Previously on Mostly Mortals...

The cemetery had waited long enough. The horde was inside. The lich was nowhere. So Shirley threw the gates wide, roared into the dark... and Caelum followed him in.

That was when Kimber sealed the entrance behind them. A Cloud of Daggers across the gate, meant for safety. Instead it locked Shirley and Caelum *inside*, alone with the dead. Caelum threw up a wall of fire to herd them, while Idril and Oggy rained arrows from a single shared shadow beyond the fence.

Then Orion arrived. Men-at-arms at his back, Destone in his fist. He sent two riders for help, loosed a volley of javelins, and called down a Bless. And the Lich Mexoz, hunted across the entire campaign, finally stopped running.

What followed was a slaughter. The lich struck three times a round, hurling Ray of Frost into Orion and laying a paralyzing hand on Kimber, freezing her where she stood. The frost giant zombie waded into Shirley and rolled a critical hit. Sixty-one damage. He dropped... and stood right back up. "Still standing!" Down again. And with his last breath, granted one final swing, he buried his axe in the giant's belly and died on his feet. A legend.

Caelum's Steel Wind Strike flashed through five enemies at once and carried him out the gate! Then Orion turned on the lich. Destone, and two divine smites, near a hundred and twenty damage in one brutal exchange. The lich reeled. And Idril loosed two arrows. Throat. Heart. Two natural twenties! Seven hundred years of lich, ended in a single breath. Every zombie in the yard collapsed where it stood.

Orion brought the hammer down on the Moonstone Crown, and it shattered into purple light. The weapon that broke it crumbled to a gavel. And somewhere behind Kimber's eyes... something sparked.

The war is won. But Shirley is gone. A gold cylinder lies unclaimed in the ashes. And no one yet knows what woke up inside Kimber's head...
